Entry Requirements

Students seeking admission to this program must fulfill the following minimum entry requirements:

a) should have successfully completed the courses of all subjects of the general education diploma or equivalent;

(b) should achieve the standards set for the subjects of the General Foundation Program;

(c) should have studied subjects which qualify him/her to be enrolled in programs in the College of Engineering; Pure Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry;

(d) must be medically fit.

The engineering sector will continue to be an essential contributor to the future sustainable development of the Sultanate of Oman. Furthermore, there will always be great demand for qualified and experienced electrical engineers to support in implementation of the nations’ economic diversification strategy and to enhance the social and economic development of the country. Graduates from the Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering program will find employment opportunities involving the primary sectors such as generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electrical power. They can also work in other secondary sectors such as electronics, communications, computers, distribution, and instrumentation. Graduates from the program may pursue further studies leading to award of a Master’s degree or Doctor of Philosophy.
